My Story
I was first inspired to look into naturopathic medicine after feeling sick for too long and frustrated that no one could help me - I felt terrible, yet the basic laboratory panels looked normal and I appeared healthy. Around the same time, I was working in a diabetes research and education clinic, and I continually observed that many patients were also not getting better from the standard disease-centered approach. When I began looking for more answers, it became clear to me that a more holistic approach was necessary - one that considers the social, environmental, mental/emotional and physical aspects of health and disease. When I discovered naturopathic medicine it made perfect sense to me; it helped me realize how much my dietary choices and chronic stress were negatively affecting my health, and helped me regain balance after years of struggling with a chronic gut issue and fatigue.
My naturopathic medical training has provided me an avenue for personal growth, and has given me the tools and skill set required to offer effective, meaningful care to my patients. I value more than anything the doctor-patient relationship, and within that the opportunity to explore a patient's unique circumstances to ensure that not only are they being heard, but that treatment reflects their unique needs and desires. I am passionate about doing my part to leave the world a better place, and my practice allows me the incredible opportunity to positively affect those around me and to continually learn, grow and be inspired.
I find balance by hiking local trails, cooking up a storm, laughing and playing with my son, listening to music and spending quality time with family and friends.
